The Polish language certificate issued by TELC (The European Language Certificates) confirms the knowledge of Polish as a foreign language. During the exam, special attention is paid to the ability to communicate. The obtained certificate is a confirmation of knowledge of a foreign language, which is recognized within the European Union. The exams are developed and administered by the organization TELC gGmbH, based in Frankfurt am Main. It has almost fifty years of experience in creating and conducting language examinations at the highest European level.

The organization continues the long tradition of The European Languages Certificates - TELC, which for decades have contributed to the development of foreign language skills in Europe and in the world. Currently, the language test offer includes 90 different exams for all levels from A1 to C2 (according to CEFR) in 10 languages. Telc gGmbH guarantees the highest quality standards, which is confirmed by the ISO 9001 certificate obtained by the organization.

TELC language certificates are recognized by institutions, employers, universities and the Ministry of National Education. They also allow you to apply for a Socrates / Erasmus scholarship.

The International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław has been the TELC Examination Centre since July 2013.

Information about the exam

The European Languages Certficates - TELC for Polish as a foreign language is organized in the B1-B2 dual exam system. The classification of the language proficiency level complies with the requirements of the European System for the Description of Language Education (CEFR).

 Good to know

 

*The dual B1 ∙ B2 exam allows you to confirm your language competences on the border of two levels: B1 and B2. The examined person who does not achieve the specified number of points at the B2 level, but receives a minimum of 50% of the points for the entire examination, will obtain a certificate of Polish as a foreign language at level B1.

 

Who is the exam for?

Candidates are people who want to confirm their knowledge of Polish as a foreign language. They can be foreigners or Polish citizens who permanently live outside the country.

 

The condition for taking the exam is to present a valid ID containing a photo.

What does the exam looks like?

The exam consists of a written and an oral part.

 

The written part (115 minutes)

 listening: 25 minutes  reading: 60 minutes  writing: 30 minutes

 

The oral part (15 minutes)

 the participant has 20 minutes to prepare  the oral exam is taken in pairs

 

The oral exam may be held during the day of the written exam or at a different date.

Are there any preparation courses?

Yes. The Language Competence Centre operating by the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław is engaged in teaching Polish language and Polish culture to foreigners, both students and private individuals interested in learning about our country and language.

When is the exam taking place?

As the TELC Examination Centre, the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław offers exams regularly. Candidates may register for the exam at any time during the calendar year. The waiting time is up to 5 weeks.
