OPEN LECTURE BY PROF. RICHARD WILDING

On May 31, 2023, an open lecture was held for students of the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław, whose speaker was prof. Richard Wilding.

Richard Wilding is Professor of Supply Chain Strategies at the Cranfield School of Management in the UK. For years he was the chairman of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport UK. He is described by the BBC as "one of the world's leading experts in logistics and supply chain management".

During an open lecture, the professor familiarized the students of the IULT with the topic "Managing Supply Chain Risk for Sustainable Operations". Professor Richard Wilding provided students with knowledge confirmed by examples from his personal practice in this topic. In a fascinating way, he presented the concept of supply chain risk, the resilience of the supply chain and Industry 4.0 components, and the relationship between the supply chain, the customer and the product sold.

After the lecture, students had the opportunity to ask questions about the discussed topic and about the issues that bothered them as future logisticians.
